Santa Paws Kelowna returns for 4th annual fundraiser

With Christmas around the corner, Santa Paws Kelowna presents an opportunity for families to bring their pets for a unique photo session with Santa.

Returning for their fourth fundraiser after taking a year off due to COVID-19, pet lovers will be able to introduce their furry family members to Santa and grab a family photo with the big man in red.

“Santa Paws Kelowna raises funds for local animal wellness organizations and animal rescues,” explained Majic Greenwood, co-creator of the annual Santa Paws Kelowna fundraiser.

Over its first three years, Santa Paws raised a total of $7,925 for the Kelowna branch of the SPCA.

“This year we are so excited to be raising money for Taco Dog Rescue Society, as they are close to our hearts,” said Greenwood.

Due to restrictions on gatherings, the 2021 Santa Paws Kelowna is going to look a little different from previous years.

It will not be an open event this year and pre-booking a time slot is required.

“We are booking time slots in one hour increments to a maximum of 25 bookings per hour,” Greenwood explained. “This will enable us to maintain adequate social distancing while still having lots of time for photos.”

In addition to the highly-anticipated Santa photos, the fundraiser will also offer raffle tickets on four baskets, donated by Dogzies Pet ServicesHomes By AmyKootenay Cannabis YLW and Bread Co. Kelowna.

The event will feature two local dog friendly vendors, Okanagan Hound and Snuffle Mat Momma.

Greenwood also hinted that “there are a few other surprises lined up along the way.”
